Hibiki Yoshida (“Provider”) establishes the following Privacy Policy (“this Policy”) regarding the handling of user information, including personal information, in connection with the Provider’s service “SnapNote” (“this Service”). Note that note data created by users within this Service (content entered by users, such as the body of memos) is not subject to the collection of user information under this Policy and is not sent to any external server (see the Provider’s Terms of Service for details).

1. User Information Collected and Collection Methods

In this Policy, “user information” means information related to identifying users, behavioral history on communication services, and other information generated or accumulated in relation to users or their devices, which the Provider collects based on this Policy. The user information collected by the Provider in this Service is as follows, depending on the method of collection.

  1. Information provided by users to use this Service or through the use of this Service is as follows:

    • Information entered or submitted by users through input forms or other methods designated by the Provider

  2. When users use this Service, the Provider may collect information regarding access to and usage of this Service. This includes the following information:

    • Device information (model, OS version, etc.)
    • Application usage status and log information
    • Crash reports and error information

  3. In connection with the use of the paid feature (SnapNotePro) in this Service, the following information is collected. This information is collected and processed through the payment management service “RevenueCat” (provided by RevenueCat, Inc.).

    • Purchase history (purchase date and time, purchased items, price, currency, etc.)
    • Receipt information for purchase verification provided by the App Store / Google Play (Apple’s receipt files, Google’s purchase tokens, etc.)
    • Anonymous identifiers (anonymous App User ID issued by RevenueCat)
    • Technical information such as device type, OS information, and application usage date and time

    Note that information related to payment, such as credit card numbers, is handled directly by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), and is not obtained or stored by the Provider or RevenueCat.

2. Purpose of Use

The specific purposes of use of user information related to the provision of this Service are as follows:

  1. To provide, maintain, protect, and improve this Service
  2. To understand and analyze the usage status of this Service, and to improve the service and develop new features
  3. To respond to inquiries and other communications regarding this Service
  4. To respond to acts that violate the Provider’s terms, policies, etc. regarding this Service (“Terms, etc.”)
  5. To notify changes to the Terms, etc. regarding this Service
  6. To provide the paid feature (SnapNotePro) in this Service, verify purchase content, and support the restoration of purchase history
  7. To prevent fraudulent purchases and fraudulent use related to the paid feature

3. Provision to Third Parties

The Provider will not provide personal information among user information to third parties (including those located outside Japan) without obtaining the prior consent of the user. However, this does not apply when it is necessary to provide such information to third parties (including those located outside Japan) as set forth below.

  1. When the Provider outsources all or part of the handling of personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use
  2. When personal information is provided in connection with the succession of business due to a merger or other reasons
  3. When it is necessary to cooperate with a national or local government agency, or a person entrusted by them, in carrying out affairs prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the consent of the user is likely to impede the performance of such affairs
  4. When otherwise permitted by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (“Personal Information Protection Act”) or other laws and regulations

In connection with the paid feature of this Service, the Provider entrusts the handling of the user information mentioned above to the payment management service “RevenueCat” (RevenueCat, Inc., a U.S. corporation) for the management and verification of purchase information. Information handled by RevenueCat is stored on servers located in the United States, and as a result, user information is transferred outside of Japan (to the United States). RevenueCat, as an outsourcing partner, handles information after implementing appropriate security management measures based on its contract with the Provider.

4. Disclosure of Personal Information

When a user requests disclosure of personal information based on the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act, the Provider will disclose it to the user without delay after confirming that the request is from the user themselves (if such personal information does not exist, the Provider will notify the user of that fact). However, this does not apply when the Provider is not obligated to disclose such information under the Personal Information Protection Act or other laws and regulations. If a fee is charged for the disclosure of personal information, the amount and method of payment will be separately notified.

5. Correction and Suspension of Use of Personal Information

  1. When a user requests (1) correction of the content of personal information on the grounds that the personal information is not true, based on the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act, or (2) suspension of use on the grounds that the information is handled beyond the scope of the purpose of use previously announced, or that it was collected by false or other unlawful means, based on the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act, the Provider will conduct the necessary investigation without delay after confirming that the request is from the user themselves, and based on the results, will correct the content of the personal information or suspend its use, and notify the user accordingly. If the Provider decides not to make a correction or suspend use, it will notify the user of that fact.
  2. When a user requests the deletion of their personal information, if the Provider determines that it is necessary to comply with the request, the Provider will delete the personal information after confirming that the request is from the user themselves, and notify the user accordingly.
  3. The provisions of 5-1 and 5-2 do not apply when the Provider is not obligated to make corrections, suspend use, etc. under the Personal Information Protection Act or other laws and regulations.

7. Procedure for Changing the Privacy Policy

The Provider may change this Policy as necessary. However, when making a change to this Policy that requires the user’s consent under laws and regulations, the revised Policy will apply only to users who have consented to the change in the manner prescribed by the Provider. When the Provider changes this Policy, it will announce the effective date and content of the revised Policy through display on this Service or other appropriate means, or notify users.
